Weekly Reflection 3
This week we went to the Pacific School of Innovation and Inquiry (PSII). At PSII we learnt about how the school works, how the school and workload is laid out, and how the students like going there. PSII is an engaging school that allows students to take charge of their learning. During my time at PSII I learned about all the different ways students take charge of their learning, from inquires to exploring how their inquires can be brought to life, it was a very enjoyable experience and it honestly made me want to go back to high school just so that I could experience PSII first hand as a student. It was interesting to see how students collaborated with staff and other students to help each other with their inquiries and the projects they were creating. One of the people we got the chance to meet and talk to was doing an inquiry project on how artificial hearts can be made and what works and what does not work when creating a heart. Overall, it was really interesting to see the school and I hope that in the future more schools can adopt similar (if not the same) ideas as PSII. In light of hearing about artificial hearts, take a look at the two links below to learn more about artificial hearts and successful transplants!
